Where did the time go?

With tears running down my face, I am writing this latest post. It’s so bittersweet to know that Jack is now off to college at Wake Forest, leaving me behind as he goes off to the next stage of his life while I’m left figuring out what I’m going to do moving forward with my own life. Countless memories flood into my head over the years. Our time together at Centre Court when you were just old enough to hold a racquet, our victories over the years at Agawam and Longwood, our daily hitting sessions together at EG high, our walks at Goddard Park, watching your cross country meets and basketball games, our ping pong battles in the basement, visiting grandma Anna, summers with Dede and the cousins, Lake Compounce, Mystic Pizza, having you and Shane be there with me when moving into the Devonshire office, going to 2 world series games together, our trips to Boston, the Laver Cup, seeing you thrive academically in school, finding the BMW X3 together at the shitty Pawtucket used car dealership, our annual trips to the US Open with the cousins, our trips to nearly every mountain in New England, Bretton Woods buffet stories, sledding late night at Killington, our annual trips to Millbrook, California, La Jolla Racquet Club, La Quinta and Indian Wells, our time together in Napa, Gotts, lifting together at the gym, enjoying Twin Oaks and Angelos, watching you play and dominate at Hendricken for the past two years, being there to celebrate your State Singles titles…a culmination of our amazing journey together. Looking back, I couldn’t have asked for a better son and more amazing times together. While I know many fathers and sons share a bond, nothing comes close to what you, Shane and I share. And while I am truly lost without you these days now having to cling to our daily check-in phone calls, I’m truly excited for you and for all that life has in store for you. I’m so proud of you and will forever cherish our time together during your childhood. You’re the best.
