Fall Flu

These past few weeks have been dominated by sickness. Shane has been sick for half of the time with two bouts of a virus and Jack was also down for the count for a good 10 days with a sore throat and body aches. As a result, other than trying to keep up with school, the Ciunci’s have been laying low. Very little tennis and limited outside of the house fun has taken place. The upside has been that both boys have grinded with their studies. Jack has successfully increased his Calculus grade from a “D” to an “A-“ to close out the quarter and is also doing A-/B+ work in his other classes. Good for you Jack! Shane is also excelling, with nothing lower than a 98 in all of his classes. Shane has become a bit obsessed with his grades and looks at his phone incessantly for grade updates. I’ve told him he has to enjoy other aspects of school and not just obsess with studying. That being said, Shane has made it onto the starting lineup of the Math Team (the only Freshmen to do so) and competed in his first team match last week. We’re waiting with bated breathe to see how he made out!
The boys have also gone to a couple Hendricken football games and Jack now regularly hangs out with his friends Austin, Keith and a few others on Friday and Saturday nights. Jack also shadowed a student a BC and is now even more excited by the possibility of being accepted at the school. Another event to note was Shane’s OLM confirmation. He is now officially going to Heaven, which I have had a lot of influence over😊 All in all, a low key month, which should be ramping back up due to both now being in good health.
